House Sponsorship

share

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity currently builds 2-3 homes per year.  Various organizations sponsor houses by providing a combination of direct funding, in-kind donations of materials and services, and volunteer labor.  House sponsors include individuals, churches, corporations, and foundations. In many cases, several sponsors combine forces to fund a home.

Sponsorship Levels

Full sponsorship
Depending upon how we acquire the property it generally costs between $85,000 and $190,000 to build/rehab a three or four bedroom home. Larger corporations, individuals and foundations often fully sponsor a home(s).

Partial sponsorship
To be acknowledged as a house sponsor, an organization must contribute a minimum of $25,000. When a house is not fully sponsored, Housatonic Habitat recruits other partial sponsors to complete the funding.

Benefits of Sponsorship

  • Identification with a particular house project and Habitat family.
  • Allocation of volunteer slots based on percentage of sponsorship.
Note: If a sponsor cannot provide all the volunteers based on its allocation, Habitat has plenty of people who are willing to volunteer!
  • Participation in the groundbreaking, wall-raising, and dedication ceremonies – coupled with publicity that comes with these events.
