As we begin a new holiday season, I want to thank you for your generous support throughout the year. When you donate your surplus furnishings and building supplies to Housatonic Habitat, you create opportunities for individuals in our community to improve their lifestyle – and help Habitat raise the funds needed to build affordable housing for others.
As you clear space to store all those holiday goodies, please contact Michelle at ReStoreDonations@housatonichabitat.org or call 203-205-0952 to add more space to your home while donating items to our warehouse. We can schedule a pick up in a matter of minutes! We welcome all home furnishings but at this time of year, we are in particular need of kitchen cabinets, appliances, and small furniture.
More than a daily treasure hunt, our ReStore is an 11,000 square foot thrift warehouse which thinks Green by repurposing, reusing and ReStoring items that still have purpose but could easily be sent to a landfill instead.
Housatonic Habitat for Humanity is a 501c3 non-profit and all donations are tax deductible – Act now to lock in your 2016 tax deductions!
Putting people into homes since 1991
Homeownership is more than the homes we build. Homeownership provides financial benefits that impacts and contributes to the quality of life in greater Danbury. Throughout the region affordable housing attracts families and individuals, who will locate, work in, invest in and contribute to the economic and civic life of our communities. Habitat has a solution to stimulating this economic vitality: Give people a chance to live in simple, decent homes they can afford – and sustain. We provide affordable homes built by volunteers with materials gifted by local businesses. We provide an interest-free mortgage for those working families who qualify.
Amazon Prime users and Housatonic Habitat
Family Partnership Chair Allison Homberg of Brookfield Insurance Agency has this tip for us this holiday season:
"Just a reminder... Amazon will give a portion of the purchase price for Amazon Prime users to the Charity of Choice if you go to : Smile.Amazon.com (instead of just Amazon.com). Price to purchaser is the same; they simply give a portion to whichever charity I select. Christmas is coming; this would be a very easy way to raise some money. I have made 4 purchases so far which tagged HHFH as the charity. Free money!!!"
